In-Person Conversation with Dr. Laura Barger, Sleep Specialist
Join us for an in-person workshop with Dr. Laura Barger, renowned sleep specialist, for an engaging and practical conversation about the unique sleep challenges faced by resource parents and the children in their care. Children who have experienced early adversity and multiple home transitions often struggle with falling asleep, staying asleep, nightmares, anxiety at bedtime, and irregular sleep patterns. These challenges can affect the entire household. Dr. Barger will explore why trauma impacts sleep, what behaviors parents may see at bedtime and overnight, and how caregivers can respond with understanding and effective strategies.
This session will also include practical, research-based techniques that both adults and children can use to improve sleep quality. Resource parents will walk away with tools to create healthier bedtime routines, reduce stress around sleep, and support their own rest and well-being.
Come prepared for a supportive, informative discussion focused on real-life challenges and realistic solutions.
Just come on in, it will be nice to have an in-person hello. We hope you will join us!
