Best Practices for the care of our CSEC (Commercial Sexually Exposed Children)

This is a RFA Class topic all caregivers are required to take at least once. It will not be offered again until January 2027.

Caring for youth who have been commercially sexually exploited requires a trauma-informed, survivor-centered approach grounded in empathy, safety, and trust. This specialized training equips caregivers with the tools to understand the complex dynamics of CSEC, including grooming, trauma bonding, and the impact of exploitation on a young person’s development and behavior. Participants will learn best practices for building safe relationships, responding to triggers, promoting empowerment, and supporting recovery without judgment. Designed for foster parents, resource families, and caregivers, this class offers practical strategies, real-life insights, and hope for healing. Together, we’ll work toward creating stability, resilience, and long-term support for some of our most vulnerable youth.
