Info Session – Local Homes Needed for Yolo County’s Foster Children

October 22, 6-7:00pm
Join us to learn about becoming a Resource Family to foster children in Yolo County. We very much need local families to foster school age children and teens.
Author Graham Green once wrote, “There is always a moment in childhood when the door opens and lets the future in.” For more than 300 abused and neglected children in Yolo County each year, the future often comes in the form of a foster family or relative caregiver’s home, now referred to as a Resource Home. Research shows that children do best when placed with people they know, staying in their “home schools” and maintaining their community.
“Every interaction with a child is a chance to make a positive difference in his or her life,” said WCC FKCE Director Cherie Schroeder. “Resource Families are a critical piece in helping abused and neglected children heal and move forward.”
If you are an available to join us, we would love to have you there to share. This is a wonderful chance for you to invite people you may know who may have been thinking about fostering, or if you feel a friend or neighbor would be a nurturing caregiver.
