Parenting children who have experienced trauma requires patience, understanding, and a compassionate approach to discipline. Behaviors that may appear defiant or challenging are often rooted in fear, loss, grief, or unmet needs. Traditional discipline methods can unintentionally escalate these behaviors when children do not yet feel safe or regulated. In this thoughtful and practical workshop, parenting expert Lynn Arner Samarrron, MS, will guide resource parents in learning how to set clear, consistent boundaries while preserving connection and trust. Participants will explore how trauma impacts brain development, emotional regulation, and behavior, and how discipline can be delivered in ways that support healing rather than shame. This class focuses on balancing firm limits with empathy, helping children feel both safe and guided. Resource parents will gain insight into responding to challenging behaviors with calmness to reduce power struggles, and build a home environment where children can grow in security and resilience.
Join us for an encouraging evening designed to strengthen your confidence, deepen connection, and transform discipline into an opportunity for growth, learning, and healing.
