This class is designed for resource parents, kinship caregivers, and foster families seeking a deeper understanding of addiction and its far-reaching impact on children and family systems. Participants will explore the biological, psychological, and social factors that contribute to substance use disorders, while gaining insight into how addiction can affect child development, attachment, behavior, trauma responses, and family relationships. This conversation-based class will also provide practical perspectives to help caregivers respond with greater empathy, awareness, and support for children and families impacted by addiction.
