Join a youth-centered movement to transform the foster care system in California. Our CYC youth leaders ensure that youth voices are at the center of child welfare policymaking process in California. Who can join?
Youth and young adults ages 14-24 currently or formerly in foster care or other out-of-home placement (guardianship, informal kinship care, juvenile justice, probation, adopted, McKinney-Vento).
What does CYC do?
CYC has chapters throughout California. Our chapters focus on developing leadership skills, local community education, and policy implementation. Members also lead statewide activities, including conferences, legislative implementation, and the Statewide Membership Council (SMC). Chapters meet at least twice monthly.
