YoloWorks WIOA program offers FREE Security Officer Guard Card Training.
Security & Firearms Training Academy offers a fully comprehensive course (40 hours over 5 days) that provides you with all certifications and knowledge required to start your career in the private security industry.
- Level 1 – This course is the first 8 hours of training that is required to apply for your Guard Card.
- Level 2 – This 16-hour course includes certifications with less-lethal devices.
- Level 3 – This 16-hour course includes legal aspects pertaining to security officers and associated constitutional law.
Who can get this FREE education?
Must be age 18+, high school graduate or have completed a GED, live in Yolo County (or be laid off from a Yolo County employer), and have the right to work in the United States. Includes current or former Yolo County Foster Care youth placed in out of county residency. All males over age 18 must show proof of Selective Service registration or exemption: www.sss.gov.

Classes are held at the located Security & Firearms Training Academy at 3355 Myrtle Avenue, Suite 200, North Highlands, CA 95660 or call at 916-500-1442.
